It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week and she has a fantastic sketch for us!  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I distressed a background on water colored paper.  I cut the rectangle using the SugarPea Designs Stitched Rectangle die.  Frank is stamped in black using the MFT Frightful Friends.  I colored him with Copic Markers and cut him out with the matching dies.  The clouds and moon are from the same set.  Wink of Stella and google eyes were added for fun! I also embossed some stars in the night sky with clear embossing powder.

You're A Class Act!---Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #113 and PCC257.

August 23, 2017

I am playing along with the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge and Paper Craft Crew today!  I love making teacher cards and gifts.  I guess it is because I taught Elementary School for 27 years.  I still love "Back To School" supplies.  There is nothing better than the smell of a new box of crayons.

I know teachers never get thanked enough for all they do for our children.  I made some treats for my grandchildren to take to their teachers.  They have already been in school 3 weeks, and I don't know any teachers that don't like candy!  Hope they will enjoy these special treats.

I ordered the treat tubes to hold the candy from Reverse Confetti.  The treat topper die from Reverse Confetti was used to cut the tube ends.  It was a great way to use up lots of paper and ribbon in my stash.  The tag is cut using the Thanks Tag Die from Reverse Confetti.  I stamped the apple using the All Apples stamp set and matching dies were used to cut out the apples, leaves and stem.  Wink of Stella was added to make the apples shiny.  I also added a black twine bow and clips the tag top.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Have a great day!

All Of My Favorite Stories Include You--PP #358

August 20, 2017

Hi!  It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players

The amazing Joanne is our hostess this week and she has a Clean and Simple Coloring Challenge for all of us!  There is nothing I enjoy more in card making than coloring an image so, this was such a fun card for me to make! We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut a yellow stitched rectangle panel for the top layer.  I used another size of the stitched rectangles to cut the window shape.  I added a piece of patterned paper in the negative space to make it look like wallpaper.  The little girl, the lamp and the books were stamped in black Memento ink using the MFT
Our Story stamp set.  I colored the images with Copic Markers and cut them out with the matching dies.  Wink of Stella was added for lots of shine to all the pieces.  I did not add any more embellishments,  since it is supposed to be a CAS card.  That is always so hard for me.  LOL!

Trick or Treat--FMS 301

August 18, 2017

Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I loved the sketch this week and it gave me the perfect opportunity to make my first Halloween card using my new MFT Happy Haunting  stamp set.  I LOVE to make Halloween cards.  This set is just too cute!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a piece of black and white striped paper I found in my stash for the background.  I created the top panel using distress inks and splashed a few drops of water on it for fun.  I added the stars from the MFT stamp set and used Versa Mark and clear embossing powder for shine.  The sentiment is from the Your Next Stamp set Waddles Trick or Treat.  I stamped it in Versa Mark and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.  The little trick or treaters were colored with Copic Markers and cut out using the matching dies.  I popped each image with dimensionals.  Lots of Wink of Stella was added for shine and I used a black gel pen on their eyes.  The moon and clouds are from the same set.

Sweet 16 -- PP3357

August 13, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.

The sensational Sandy is our hostess this week!  Her color challenge is so pretty!  I was a little stumped at first, but then I ended up having several ideas with the palette. Have fun and we can't wait to see how you use these colors!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used the MFT Bold Stripes Die to create the fun frame and layers.  I used Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral stripes.  A Pear Pizzazz starburst frame was created around the white sunburst circle and adhered on top of the bold stripes frame.   I cut the "16" from Bermuda Bay using Stampin' Up!  Large Number Framelit dies.  I used the MFT Fall Florals  stamp set to create the flowers and the leaves.  Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay ink was used on the flowers and Pear Pizzazz was used on the leaves.  The matching dies were used to cut out all the pieces.  Enamel dots were used in the center of each flower.  The word "sweet" is cut three times in Calypso Coral using the Tayolred Expressions die and Glossy Accents was added to create lots of shine.  A little Bermuda Bay heart was placed in the script.  This card was created for my niece, Olivia.  She turned 16 this week.

You Are Better Than Summer Sunshine! FMS300 and SIP #111

August 12, 2017

Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.

I LOVE the beach and I am so excited that this is the 300th sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches Team.  That is an amazing accomplishment!

My card is created on a white card base.  I found a beautiful piece of DSP of a gorgeous sunshine in my stash for the background.  I added Island Indigo card stock behind the beach ball and sunshine piece of DSP.  I added the yellow polka dot DSP behind the embossed Island Indigo rectangle.  The flip flops were stamped on the yellow polka dot paper and fussy cut using a Simon Says Stamp set.  Glossy Accents was added to the shoes and a little candy dot was added to the flip flops.  I used the sentiment from the same stamp set and sponged the edges with Island Indigo ink.  A few more candy dots were added for fun.  Baker's Twine was added with a bow for a little more pop.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Now, I am off to enjoy some summer sunshine in Atlanta, GA!  It has rained all week and I need a doze of Vitamin D!

Have a great weekend!

I Just Hugged You In My Thoughts! --PP356

August 6, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.

The amazing Nance is our hostess this week and she has a FUN theme challenge for all of us! It can be an outdoor activity such as cycling, hiking, camping, gardening, etc. or it can be something found outdoors in nature such as birds, bees, flowers, trees, leaves....you get the idea!  Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used MFT Blueprints for the orange background.  I used the MFT Cloud stencil to create the sky and distress inks and Lawn Fawn hillside  borders to create the ground. The little girl image and all the leaves were created using the MFT Jumping With Joy stamp set and dies.  I colored them with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  I paper pieced the hat and pants with Lawn Fawn Plaid paper.  The sentiment is stamped in Momento Cocoa ink using the same stamp set.  I love Fall and this is my idea of fun in the "Great Outdoors"!
