Let the Good Times Roll--PP306

July 31, 2016

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week!  This is my favorite challenge--Tic-Tac-Toe!  I am always amazed at the variety of fantastic cards using the board.  I can't wait to see all the fabulous creations!  Have fun!

I used the last column--Masculine-Red-Die Cut.  I grew up in Indiana and bowling was so popular in the Mid-West.  The winters are so cold and many people participate on bowling  teams.  That is not so popular in Atlanta, but this stamp set made me smile.

My base card is white.  I used a piece of patterned paper I found in an old pad that had a bowling theme.  I was jumping for joy when I found it.  I backed it with red and black paper.  I cut a strip of woodgrain paper for the bowling lane.  A Zig Zag Stitched Circle Die by SugarPea Designs was used to cut the circle.  I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink on the edges.

The bowler and the pins were stamped on Neenah Solar white paper. The  Spare Me stamp set is from SugarPea Designs.  I colored the images with Copic Markers.  Glossy Accents were added to the pins.  Wink of Stella was added for shine to the images.  The sentiment is stamped in Momento black ink.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

My card was created using the Merry Makers Stamps Set.  I cut the green polka dot paper using the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Dies.  A white rectangle of Neenah Solar White was used to stamp the merry little elves.  I colored them using Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents and a few enamel dots were added for fun and sparkle.

You Hog My Heart--FMS 246

July 24, 2016

I found a few extra minutes to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge today.  It is so hot outside, so it was nice to stay in the A/C and craft.

Such a fun sketch this week!

I have been dying to use the Hog Heaven stamp set by My Favorite Things.
I thought I would make a card for one of my granddaughters that LOVES everything PINK!

My base card is white.  The next layer is Melon Mambo card stock embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder from SU.  I used the gift tag from SugarPea Designs to cut the white tag.  I distressed it with Broken Sky ink.  I added a puffy cloud from Mama Elephant.  Copic Makers were used to color the little hog and fence.  A white twine bow was tied on the gift tag.  Two puffy enamel hearts were added on the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope my card made you smile!

HUGS!

Did You Hear--PP305

July 24, 2016

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

Our lovely LeAnne is the hostess this week!  She has a fabulous sketch for all of us to play along with.  This is a sketch that can be used  in so many ways.  We can't wait to see what you create.

My card is created for my sister.  Her birthday is this week and YES, she is older than me!  At our house, the phone has always been part of a family joke.  Back when there were no cell phones, recorders or other ways to know who was calling, I would always burst through the door to ask, "Did anybody call?"  When I was home, I was always on the phone.  So, when I went to the Scrap booking Expo last week in Duluth GA, I found a stamp company (new to me) called The Stamps of Life.  They had so many fun, whimsical stamps.  I had to buy several, but my favorite was this set called Phone4You with matching dies.

My card was created on a white card base.  I used the MFT  Tranquil Textures Paper Pack for all the purple papers on my card.  The background was cut using the Sugar Pea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle dies.  The white zig zag circle was cut using the MFT Pinking Edge Circle Stax.  A dauber was used to ink the edges of the circle.  I found some small purple enamel dots in my stash for the dial.  I love the way this card turned out.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!

We Need To Talk

July 22, 2016

It is so hot in Georgia!  I love to be outside, but I just can't stay outside long in the heat and humidity.  I found a few extra minutes to sneak in my "teepee" (I just found this at Hobby Lobby)

to create a card for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.  I haven't had time to enter any challenge since moving, and hope to start playing along more often.  I love black and white cards, so this was perfect!

I attended the Scrap Booking Expo in Duluth, GA last week.  I had so much fun looking at new products and I spent way to much money!  I found a stamp company that was new to me and feel in LOVE with their stamps.  The Stamps of Life are fun, bold and whimsical!  I am sharing my first card made with one of my new sets.

I used a variety of black and white papers to create my card.  I thought the number paper was perfect for my phone!  I adore old retro phones and always wanted a pink one when I was a child.  Countless hours of my youth were spent on the phone.  I used the Phone4You stamp set and the matching dies. You can't see it in my photo, but I used silver foil to create the circle for the dial.  Pearls were added for fun.  I just love the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Wishing you a fantastic weekend!

My card is created using the Teacher's Pet stamp set.  It is only one week until my granddaughters return to school.  I wanted to have cards for them to take to their teachers.  If you follow my blog, you know that I love teacher cards!  I used the sketch this week for my inspiration.  I had so much fun coloring this adorable little bear.  I know he is proud of his new backpack.  I used the Stitched Flags die for my banner and stamped the ruler stamp to add to the red banner.  A big button and bow were the perfect finish!

Look For The Miracles--PP304 and ctd401

July 17, 2016

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!   The lovely Jaydee is our hostess this week!  She has a technique challenge for all of us.  Use Watercolor on your CAS project!  We can't wait to see what you create!

I am also entering my card in the  Color Throwdown Challenge.  I loved the colors in their palette this week.  I am also entering the Challenge Up Your Life challenge.

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a piece of watercolor paper and trimmed it with a stitched rectangle border by Simon Says Stamps.  I stamped the sentiment in Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it in white embossing powder.  The stamps set is from Simon Says Stamp Look For The Miracles.  I also did the flowers from the same set.  The chevron border is from Papertrey Inks Noted Stamp Set.  I added the watercolor paints from Zig-Kuretake-Gansai paints to create this wash.  I love the way it turned out.  Yellow enamel dots were added to the flower centers.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!
