February 28, 2016

This week, I am the hostess and I have a fun sketch challenge for everyone to play along with!  Lots of layers make me happy so, I can't wait to see all the creations!

My card was created using a new stamp set by SugarPea Designs--Easter Blessings.  I stamped the little girl in Momento Black ink and colored her with Copic Markers.  The plaid paper is a new favorite of mine.  It is from My Favorite Things--Plaid Pattern Pack.  This paper just makes me smile!  I added a strip of green and pink from my scraps to complete the sketch.  Two eggs were stamped using the new Egg-A-Lious Stamp Set by SugarPea Designs.

MFT-Fishtail Flag Dies was used to cut the white banner for the sentiment.  Three candy dots were added for fun.  Wink of Stella was used on the little girl and the eggs for shine.

My card was created for a special friend that found out that she is going to be a
GRANDmother.  I wanted something fun and whimsical.  I used the
SugarPea Designs-Tons of Fun stamp set and the SugarPea Designs-Zig Zag Circle Dies  to create my card.

Copic Markers were used to color the adorable elephant.  I fussy cut him and popped him with dimensionals on a Zig Zag Circle that was sponged with distress inks.  Baker's Twine, enamel dots, a button and Wink of Stella help add fun to my card.

Sending Hugs and Prayers--The Challenge #61

February 22, 2016

It's Monday and time for a new challenge at The Challenge!
This week we have a very beautiful inspiration photo for you! We can't wait to see what you create!

A few rules to keep things fun and fair!
1. Use the challenge to create a card.

6. Have fun!

My inspiration came from the wooden kitchen island, the white flowers and the green in the cake stands.  I wanted to incorporate the pink from the refrigerator, too, so I added pink behind my main panel.

I stamped the hardwood stamp from Stampin' Up! with white pigment  ink on a Crumb Cake background.  I distressed the sides with a distressing tool and sponged the edges with SU Early Expresso ink.  The flowers are from Altenew-Peony Scrolls.  The flowers were stamped with Versa Fine ink on Nennah Solar White paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added some C1 Copic Marker and used the blender pen to create the dimension.  The matching dies were used to cut out the flowers.  The leaves are stamped using the Altenew-Vintage Flowers stamp with Mint Macaroon and Coastal Cabana inks.  The matching dies were used to cut out the leaves.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  I stamped the words in Early Expresso ink and cut out the word prayers using a Winnie And Walter-The Big, The Bold and Comfort Cutaways die.  I cut it out in pink first and then used a chipboard piece and cut it out again to layer the sentiment.  Wink of Stella and sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for shine.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today!  I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment!

My base card is Smokey Slate.  The top layer is Neenah White Solar paper trimmed with a My Favorite Things die.  The stamp set is from WPlus9-Unforgettable.  I stamped the little elephant, the sentiment and balloons with Memento Black ink.  The balloons were colored with Copic Markers.  I added a black and white Baker's Twine bow and clear sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for fun.  Wink of Stella was added for shine.

There Is No Limit to You're Awesomeness--Sparkle & Shine Challenge

February 15, 2016

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkle & Shine Challenge Blog.  We are excited you are here and hope that are inspired! For this challenge, please use the photo inspiration below when creating your projects. You can create in any way you like as long as we can see the inspiration in your design.

For this challenge we are sponsored by the amazing online store Right at Home!  The winner of our challenge will receive a $15 gift card to her store and be asked to join us next month as our Guest Designer.

My card was created for my wonderful Uncle Paul.  Today is his 97th birthday!!!!   He reminds me so much of my Daddy and I love him so much!

My card was inspired by the gray chevrons and the fun colors in the inspiration photo.  My base card is white.  The next layer is Island Indigo card stock.  The chevrons were created using using Hickory Smoke Distress ink.  I cut the panel out using Avery Elle's Wonky Frames.  The small banners were cut from a variety of card stock using SugarPea Design-Stitched Flags.  Enamel dots were added on each banner for fun,  Baker's Twine was added on the top of the card.  The sentiment is stamped in Momento black from a retired Stampin Up! Stamp.

I hope you are able to join us in this challenge. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!
