Now, back to reality.  I am hosting my first two card making classes this week, so I have been busy preparing samples and cutting paper all day.  I chose to do a sympathy card for one of the examples.  It seems that all to often that we need an extra one in our card boxes.

Swallowtail/Gorgeous Grunge

August 20, 2013

Believe it or not, we had about 30 minutes of sunshine today in Georgia.  Haven't seen the sun in so long, I almost forgot what it looks and feels like!  :))

Today I made the same card in five different color combinations.  I  love the Swallowtail Stamp Set and I am always amazed how it takes on a different feel each time I stamp with it.  Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set was a give away at the Stampin' Up! Convention in July.  I wasn't sure that I would ever use it, but I am crazy about the little pop of color it added to the background of these cards.  I think I will be using this stamp set a lot now!  Thank you Stampin' Up!!!!!!

Clean and Simple Challenge

August 19, 2013

Another gloomy day, so I thought I would enter the Paper Players #159 challenge.  It is a difficult concept for me because it is one-layer card.  It should be so simple, but I struggled with the simplicity of the sketch.  I would like to thank Ann Marie Hile for her card idea.  It inspired me to give it a try.  Here is my take on the clean-and-simple challenge.

I looked down at the shirt I was wearing and got instant inspiration from the beautiful peacock feathers.  With a little extra bling it made this dreary day, less dreary!  ENJOY!!!!!

Here is my take on this fabric.

For You (Eastern Elegance)

August 13, 2013

It is a beautiful day in Greensboro, GA.  I started the day playing tennis with some very dear ladies.  We always have so much fun!    We play for fun and friendship.  I have found that is the best kind of tennis!

When I returned home, I had a new box of goodies from Stampin' Up waiting for me!  The UPS man delivered it at 10:00 p.m. last night, so I waited to open it when I got home.  I love playing with all my new toys.  It is like Christmas morning when I open the box.  I never remember what I ordered, so, it is exciting to discover all the wonderful  treasures.

One of the new items was a package of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper (130131).  It is beautiful and very different than most of my choices.  I also, received Smoky Slate paper in my box.  I am not a fan of gray, but I love it with Coastal Cabana Ink.  I think it may be a new go-to color choice.  I hope you like my newest card design!
